Michael T. Meehan is a partner in the firm since 2002. He has been a practicing attorney since 1996 and a paralegal in the firm starting in 1992. Born of the rich legal tradition of Meehan, Meehan & Gavin, Michael is the third generation of Meehan family lawyer. Mr. Meehan received his Juris Doctor from Quinnipiac University and his undergraduate degree from University of Hartford. Mr. Meehan is a trial attorney focusing his practice in the areas of criminal and civil law.

Criminal Practice:

Mr. Meehan's criminal practice encompasses work throughout the state of Connecticut, representing clients charged with crimes in most of Connecticut's Geographical Area Courthouses, Judicial District Courts, as well as the Federal Courts. Mr. Meehan has represented a vast amount of clients charged with state and federal crimes and successful litigated these cases to completion. Mr. Meehan has achieved not guilty verdicts in a number of complex criminal cases ranging from the crimes of sexual assault to murder. Mr. Meehan's representation in the criminal setting often goes beyond the guilt or innocence of a client. He is committed to helping his clients who have fallen victim to substance abuse, and or mental disease or defect. Mr. Meehan works with a vast array of professionals in the medical and mental health fields in trying to repair the lives of people when they are challenged the most. He works effectively with every aspect available in our legal system to persuade those with decision making power that rehabilitation more times than not outweighs retribution when dealing with criminal cases.

Civil Practice:

Mr. Meehan's civil practice focuses on personal injury, as well as medical, legal and dental malpractice. Mr. Meehan has successfully prosecuted and defended these cases. Mr. Meehan's skills as a litigator have been acknowledged in this forum after substantial jury verdicts, arbitration awards and settlements on behalf of his clients. Mr. Meehan has represented people in serious motor vehicle accidents who have suffered a vast array of injuries including fatalities, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and fractures. Mr. Meehan has helped these people achieve the necessary compensation their injury plagued lives so desperately need.

Michael Meehan resides with his wife and three children in the Town of Fairfield, Connecticut. He is active in the community and donates his time coaching youth sports. Mr. Meehan is a panel attorney for the Fairfield Probate Court. Mr. Meehan is admitted to practice law in state and federal courts in Connecticut.
